A little clarity
about your data.
This notice covers the OffBio early-access website at offbio.io. For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected].
What you share
When you sign up, we collect your email address and name, the profile or website link and/or introduction you provide, any current objective you choose to share, your interview preference, and the time of your signup. Please avoid sharing sensitive personal information in the optional text field.
How we use it
We use your details to contact you about OffBio early access and, if you opt in, a research interview. Your optional answers help us understand what people need. Signing up does not create a public profile. Our basis for these communications is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by emailing us.
The headline experiment
A first-party cookie called offbio_experiment_v1 stores a random visitor identifier and your assigned headline for up to 180 days. It keeps the same headline on return visits. A second first-party cookie, offbio_attribution_v1, remembers campaign parameters and the external referring site’s origin for up to 180 days, so attribution survives the two-step signup. These are stored with your signup; we do not retain the referring URL’s path or query string. We record the assigned version, page views, signup interactions, completed signups, and private-mandate link clicks with timestamps to understand which headline works. We do not send your email, name, profile link, introduction, or free-text answers into these event records. You can delete the cookie in your browser; doing so may assign you a different headline.
Storage and access
The site uses Vercel for hosting and Supabase for signup and experiment storage. These providers process data to operate the site and may process technical request information such as IP addresses in their infrastructure logs. Signup information is available to the OffBio team for the purposes above. We do not sell your data.
Retention and your choices
Early-access signup data and experiment events are kept for up to 12 months, unless you ask us to delete your data earlier. You can request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your information at [email protected]. You can also contact your local data protection authority with a complaint.
